26 March 2005

now the title of my blog might be of interest to you, but basically its a part of a poem that i wrote. and i am so not into writing poetry these days, but nonetheless i did it. the following is stuff, pure and simple stuff.

i simply believe that i have been running
running through a forest cloaked in my own invisibility
beneath my feet the pine needles choke and sputter
leaving room, breaking under my weight for me to spring into my next step

underneath the trees my body can be found
moving deftly between branches and brambles
hoping that none will cast their glares upon my previously torn apart skin
i breathe in the scent of decay and of life
pungent, alive, ripe

as i stumble upon a jut into the woods
a break in the consistency
i am brought to my knees at the foot of a waterfall
the frothing creature looks down from its throne
waiting for me to judge what i have seen

i have seen something beautiful
yet altogether untouchable
a falls that should be cool and crisp
in this mountain air
yet it is tepid to my touch, as if i feel nothing

i look to the sky
placing myself in the grips of the falls
letting the roar touch me
and i wait to feel again
